Get Support for Your Teen

It is estimated that 10 - 20% of Canadian teenagers are affected by a mental illness or disorder.  For 13 to 19-year old’s, anxiety disorders are one of the most commonly diagnosed mental health problems.

Are you wondering if your teen is suffering from anxiety?  Some of the most common signs of anxiety disorder include: .

  • Worrying about grades

  • Avoiding friends or social situations

  • Not sleeping well and having nightmares

  • Always trying to be perfect and afraid to make mistakes

  • Worrying about dying or something bad happening to them or their loved ones.

Mental health can affect your teenager’s well-being throughout their lifetime, and having positive mental health can increase the likelihood of your teenager completing school, and having good social relationships, higher levels of self-confidence and increased resiliency in adulthood.

How I can Help

During our 60 to 90-minute sessions, we will work together to help your teenager re-wire and re-educate their mind so they can manage and let go of their anxieties.  Using hypnotherapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), we will build confidence and self-esteem as well as develop resiliency and coping mechanisms for pressures they experience.

Your teenager will learn tools and techniques so they can overcome their fears and worries in the moment, giving them power and autonomy over their own mental health and wellbeing.  Because 70% of mental health problems have their onset during childhood or adolescence, addressing these issues now will better prepare your teen for adulthood and enable them to live their best life. Teenagers are our future.  Let’s make it a good one.

I recognize teens with marginalized identities, such as 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, people with disabilities, people of color, and Indigenous peoples, may face specific challenges that can affect their mental health and well-being. As a mental health practitioner, I work hard to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive space that takes into consideration the unique qualities and experiences of every individual.
